his favourite band is Creedence Clearwater Revival.-

When you find things you are interested in, two things can happen. You can own them and make them your own, or you can go through them in your head to the point that they take hold of you.

If the first happens, you'll get smarter and will be living a little bit more.
If the second happens, you're just an idiot.

she clings to his consciousness.-

When the littlest thing of routine gets altered, and you're bound to a new way of living even only for a couple of days, the absurd normality of your dull rut can feel wonderful and reassuring.

And also, completely renewed.

missing Plato's point of view.-

And there's kids playin' guns in the street
And one's pointin' his tree branch at me
And so I put my hands up, I say, "Enough is enough,
If you walk away, I'll walk away."
And he shot me dead

into the wild.-

Enjoying the beauty of the simplest things is one of the biggest joys I've found in this life. The light squirming through the treetops, on the road from the tube station to my house. It's a second of peace, of feeling complete. No matter what else is going on around you, that moment can expand itself and settle you in a state of conscious unawareness, where nothing can touch you, where you are far from everything, but closer than ever to yourself.

when a long stranded cloud sits just above the horizon
leaving a strip of clear blue beneath it
it becomes a panorama
and you turn your head three hundred and sixty degrees
and the same line follows you around
if the land is sufficiently flat;
really nothing can be compared to it.

a certain romance.-

I've found myself having inner ramblings on my friends' defects more than once. It never made me proud, but it's true. Only recently have I realised, taking so much notice in their flaws is part of my twisted way of loving them. The thing is, I don't love them because they're perfect, because they're beautiful, or because they're what I'd expect or want. I just love them.

Friendship is not at all different from romantic love. As a matter of fact, it is amazingly similar. Someone recently told me you can be in love with your friends. I don't think there could be many things more beautiful than that.

at the bottom of everything.-

Small secluded neighbourhoods tend to be part of a different world. Especially at night, the street becomes quiet and, through the trees, the streetlights reflect on the pavement in a dim yellow glow. We walk out of the house and the dog wanders the block; she barks, but no one is awake to hear the echo of her voice. A cat runs away into a house. I think of what it would be like to live like this. Silence can be reminiscent of solitude, the cold awareness of one's unicity and separation of all other worldly things. The tone of the streetlight's glow feels like company, as a breeze comes and sways the trees. Sometimes it's nice to be completely alone.

one.-

Unjustified.
Potentially artistic.
In English. Mostly.
Secretly addressing Paul Smith (most likely).
Not meant to please anyone.
Thoughtful.
Likely to be abandoned.
Mine.
